Operation Christmas Child Craft Day

THIS Saturday, May 16, 2026, 12 - 3 pm

Operation Christmas Child Ministry of Grace would like to invite anyone interested in joining us this Saturday, May 16th from 12-3pm, in the fireplace room, for a craft day. Please join us, even if it is for an hour or two. We will concentrate on making t-shirt jump ropes, so if you have good, sharp scissors and/or a rotary cutter, please bring them with you.

We may also be sewing for the hygiene kits. If you have one, please bring your sewing machine. We do have a couple you could use.

We are also collecting bigger shoe boxes and clean used adult t-shirts for the jump ropes. The shirts can have stains, but please no obvious big holes. Please place them in the orange bin in the coatroom by the Sanctuary.

Contact Trish Lawton or PJ Hartzell for more info.

Buddy Training Lunch

THIS Sunday, May 17, 2026, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Learn how to befriend those with physical, intellectual, or emotional challenges, and do it over lunch! Includes tips for conversations as well as how to work with kids or adults in classroom settings.
As we begin offering more opportunities for those with special needs to participate in our programs, we will need buddies to come along side of children and adults who are participating. This training will help prepare you to be a buddy in Children or Youth ministries or to volunteer in any of our adult "Image Bearer" initiatives.
FREE training for Teens, Adults or Families - lunch is included!
Training led by Rachel Kessler, who works for Camp Promise Ministries, developing curriculum and helping with camps throughout the year.

Image Bearers Sunday Class

EVERY Sunday, During the Sermon

Sunday class during the sermon time, specifically designed to provide a space for adults with physical or intellectual disabilities to learn the Scripture in a simplified, more visual learning environment. We will have buddies available to sit with / aid anyone needing a hand.

Each month we will be going through one of the lessons from Camp Promise’s Truth Seekers Devotional. Each week will include a video lesson and some teaching, along with crafts and a memory verse. We will have a paper to send home with what we covered in class that day.

Everyone will start in the Sanctuary for the worship service. After worship, the Image Bearers will be dismissed to their class. Everyone will meet just outside the back of the sanctuary, by the left exit, where buddies will assist everyone to class.

Below are some of what we hope to do most weeks:

  • Prayer requests/prayer
  • Video
  • Lesson
  • Verse of the Month (there is also an ASL video for each verse)
  • Craft and Discussion
  • Songs
  • Prayer
  • Dismiss to gym

Encouragement Cards for Summer Missions

Write a Note of Support

This Summer, we are sending 16 people to serve at Camp Promise, as well as 3 people to serve the entire summer at Big Sky Bible Camp (which will include serving at Camp Promise). We also have several serving at Victory Valley, as well as at some other local Christian Camps.

We would love for you to write notes of encouragement to those going. Blank cards and the box to collect cards are in the lobby. There is also a list there of who is serving this summer. Please RETURN COMPLETED NOTES by SUNDAY, JUNE 7, as our first people leave that week.

If you would like to help financially support our summer teams, simply place your donation in an envelope marked "Summer Missions" or give to "Short Term Missions" in Church Center. If you want to credit your donation toward a specific team member, either mark that on the envelope (not the check itself) or put the name of the team member in the memo field on Church Center. Questions on donations: finance@gracebfc.org.
